A private alternative to Instant Data Scraper

Instant Data Scraper is a popular free Chrome extension for turning web pages into spreadsheets, and it works well. Before you install it on a work computer, it's worth reading how it's paid for.

What its privacy policy says

These are direct quotes from the Flavr Technology LP privacy policy, which covers "our Instant Data Scraper extension" (Last Updated: July 30, 2026, read on 5 November 2026):

"When you use the Extension, we automatically collect data about the URLs of web pages you visit during your browsing sessions, including the full page URL, time and date of each visit, and associated clickstream and interaction data"

"Browsing Data is transmitted to our servers upon collection"

"We sell such categories of Personal Data to our business customers so that they may conduct their own analysis on consumer behaviors and analyze and improve their marketing and advertising campaigns."

"You may opt out of the automatic collection and disclosing of your information that is related to our Extension and Services, by uninstalling the Extension from your browser."

For personal use, you may be fine with that trade. For work, it's often a problem: client dashboards, internal tools and research you're doing for someone else all show up as URLs.

How PluckTable is different
